Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris, France, Ph.D., Biology, 2013 (Advisor: Dr Catherine Monnot)

Dr. Beckouche received his PhD in Biology in 2013 from the University Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC) in Paris, France. For his PhD, Dr. Beckouche studied sprouting angiogenesis, with a particular focus on the role of extracellular matrix proteins in regulating endothelial cell signaling. He then joined the Wang lab, where he studies the role of arteriovenous specification on the formation of blood vessels during mouse development. In joining the lab, Dr. Beckouche's focus has transitioned from using cellular biology to understand angiogenesis at the cellular level to utilizing mouse genetic models and in vivo approaches to study vascular development at the physiological level.
